Tomorrow, Tuesday, November 5th, 2013 is election day.  All the DMV's will be open in New York City for regular business (some smaller DMV's will be closed outside of New York City, click the link above to be sure if your dmv is open or closed).  However, because police officers need to be stationed in hundreds of voting locations for security they usually get excused from other less mission critical tasks like testifying at the Traffic Violations Bureau.  The Traffic Violation Bureau will be open as usual if you need to schedule a ticket, pay a fine but there will be no trials taking place since there are no police officers available.  No hearings are traditionally scheduled for elections days to help the police department free up their officers in the service of democracy! Do your part and go out and VOTE!
